3D modeling of water transfers in soil and roots systems

چکیده
This work presents a three dimensional model simulating water transfers in soil and root systems (figures will be 2D for a better readability). Simulations are usually performed using a layer discretisation of soil space ([12]) often monodimensional or a global fluxes budget ([15]). Some experimental models simulate individual roots ([2]) but are huge consumers of computer ressources. Our approach considers the architecture of the main roots. Fine roots are averaged in absorptive volumes related to the main roots. This representation helps to simulate heterogeneousness like those caused by irrigation, rain water redistribution or culture associations.

Effect of tree roots on water infiltration rate into the soil
ABSTRACT- To study the effect of tree roots on increasing water infiltration in soil and also to determine and assess the coefficients of different infiltration models, some infiltration tests were performed in three tree plantation areas in Badjgah, Fars province with different soil textures (clay loam for pear plantation, sandy loam for grape plantation, loamy sand for pine trees). In each pl...

sawa, 1994). However, all of these models have been developed for planar surfaces; none are for hillslopes. A three-dimensional model of root system development and soil Several studies have shown that plants growing along water flow is described and applied to actual conditions along a hillslope. In the model, gravitropism, hydrotropism, and circumnutation slopes have asymmetric root systems (...

To use soil hydrology processes (SHP) models, which have increasingly extended during the last years, comprehensive knowledge about these models and their modeling approaches seems to be necessary. The modeling approaches can be categorized as either classical or non-classical. Classical approaches mainly model the SHP through solving the general unsaturated flow (Richards) equation, numericall...

متن کاملThe study of effective stress and pore water pressures in the foundation of a concrete gravity platform affected by loads due to waves, currents and wind in the Persian Gulf
It is proposed to use a single base platform in the Persian Gulf considering its low depth and more appropriate environmental conditions in comparison to North Sea and Mexico Gulf where this kind of platform is very popular. The pile of platform is responsible for transmission of environmental loads resulted from waves, currents, wind and dead loads to foundation of platform. Using SACS 5.3 sof...
